What to do this Easter

by Les 100 Ciels Team on March 15, 2018

Easter is just around the corner, where we’re treated to not one, but two whole days off from work (Friday March 30 – Monday April 2 2018). With such festivity comes the opportunity to eat good food, see family and friends and – perhaps best of all – a four-day weekend!

With festive events happening all weekend long, there’s plenty of fun for you and your family in London and abroad- from egg hunts to whimsical tea to interactive exhibits…So while you could lounge around and treat yourself to chocolate for four days (which sounds great by the way), if you want to be a bit more active, here’s our suggestions for getting out and about this Easter!

St Pancras International Station-Wide Easter Chicks

A family of Easter chicks take over St Pancras station, hiding within their feathers special codes with  discounts for shoppers to hunt down. The chicks will be hidden around several of the station’s stores. If you manage to find one, simply quote the code at the till to claim a special prize, such as a free lunch or giveaways. Visit St Pancras’ website  for more information. From the 26th March- 2nd April

Themed afternoon tea

If your kids aren’t addicted to tea yet, they will be after a weekend of entertainment and delicious cuppas at these themed afternoon tea events. Check out a Charlie and the Chocolate factory themed tea at One Aldwych, or a Mad Hatters themed tea at Sanderson. Designed to give you a tea experience like they’ve never had before!

Hampton Court palace Lindt bunnies hunt

Hunt down Lindt chocolate bunnies and learn some chocolate-themed history about the palace’s past at Hampton Court Palace from the 26 March-15 April. Hidden all around Hampton Court, where monarchs through the ages have indulged their sweet tooth, will be the Lindt Gold Bunny, created by the makers of the finest Swiss chocolate and instantly recognisable with its iconic gold foil, red ribbon and bell. A host of chocolate-themed activities will be taking place throughout the Easter holidays, where little ones can concoct their own Georgian style chocolate drink and even decorate a ceramic chocolate cup to take home!

Easter further afield

If you want to make your Easter break a little more special, a couple’s break in the sun can be the perfect opportunity to rest, relax and enjoy some quality time with your loved one. We’ve picked our favourite Easter destinations that are within a short flight of the UK but feel a world away from work and the cold!

Canary Islands

Just off the North African coast, the Canary Islands islands dot the Atlantic ocean offering a unique holiday experience. With a winning combination of year-round sun, wonderful beaches, breathless landscapes and lively nightlife, holidays to the Canary Islands keep travellers coming back year after year.

Morocco

Morocco combines a range of different cultural influences into one unique blend. A holiday to Morocco is a joy to the senses, with vibrant colours, scents and the most amazing food. From bustling markets to idyllic beaches, architecture and wild deserts, the adventures are endless!

Andalucía, Spain

Holy Week, “Semana Santa”, in Andalucía is an event that literally transforms towns and cities across this region with dramatic processions through the streets that you will never forget. Don’t miss the opportunity to discover the quintessential Spain, with Moorish castles, gorgeous sandy beaches and get to know more about the history of  Flamenco.

Provence, France

Easter in Provence is a great season to visit the region, from hill-top villages and châteaux and enjoy the many events, festivals and traditional fêtes organized at that time. Immerge yourself in the stunning lavender fields and indulge in a glass of Côtes du Rhône, Châteauneuf du Pape and Gigondas.

Happy Easter!
