Your Fashion & Interiors Style

Your Fashion & Interiors Style

There is so much inspiration to be found for home decoration when browsing online.  The problem is, how do you decide what style to go with for your home?  To make the process of beautifying home interiors in a style reflective of who we are and what we want to express, we’ve turned to fashion. Style is such a personal thing. It doesn’t always follow trends (although it can definitely be influenced by it) and it doesn’t always make sense to others. There are many parallels between how one’s sense of fashion can inform choices for interior design. Both are hugely influenced by what you are drawn to in daily life and both take on board the function, mood, colour and a balance of proportion and details. So whether you’re a home decor veteran or someone just starting on an exploration of taste and style, here are our 3 tips on how to draw from your fashion style to truly express yourself at home.   1. Think about your lifestyle and personality Do you prefer to be dressed in a comfortable and relaxed way or do you usually prefer to dress up and be more pulled together? Are you an extrovert – happy to be the ...

Behind the seams | Autumn Winter ’17

Behind the seams | Autumn Winter ’17

Our autumn collection is inspired by the Japanese view of life, in particular the art of Wabi Sabi. Through embracing a simple, uncluttered aesthetic, we’ve concentrated on paring back inessentials and finding beauty in imperfections. We are abandoning the perfect and celebrating authentic craftsmanship whilst appreciating the beauty of natural objects. The Wabi Sabi way of life favours authenticity over perfection and the natural and organic over clinical and symmetrical. This appreciation of fragile and incomplete things that do not adhere to our preconceived idea of beauty is something that is at the forefront of  our designs in this collection.   In the first part of the season  we have created pieces with raw edged seams, asymmetric and unfinished hems. Layered textures and unique silhouettes are supported by a palette of blush and natural tones of dusty pink and stone.   Towards the end of the season, there is a harmony between nature and design with a palette of rich tones of forest green and deep charcoal. Intarsia prints in scattered designs inspired by Raku ceramics give character, touch and feel. Keep tuned for our new season styles, coming soon! Shop our summer collection here.

SS16 Designer’s Inspiration

New season, new knitwear! Want to be in the know about next season’s key shapes and colours? Look no further than our interview with the brains behind the new Spring Summer ’16 styles, our Head Designer Stephanie. She tells us what inspired her designs this season by showing us a glimpse of her moodboard, and explains what qualities we will all be wearing this summer. Bring on the warmer months!   “This season, we’ve taken inspiration from the minimal 90’s decade, with particular emphasis on structure and simplistic silhouettes. We’ve used references from the archives of couture design and combined this with interesting yarn techniques for a modern feel.”     “We’ve looked at primitive, tribal influences to inform our print designs. The main focus for colour has come from the work of artist Callum Innes. He uses a method of layering pigments of colour, which results in a vivid array of tones. We’ve translated these varying hues into a fusion of pale pink, grey marls and indigo ombré details.” “In this Spring Summer season, we’ve focused on using natural fabrics like washed silks, linen and cotton. Our signature summer quality, cotton poplin, gives you a freshness when worn making it perfect for warmer days! We’ve also experimented with hand-dyed ...

Winter Break

A post is long due about our little Winter break to Devon! It was so lovely getting away from the hussle and bussle of London life and relaxing with good company, a Labrador, a roaring fire, (a lot of) good food and long blustery walks. We kept warm on the beach with our Ovecar Cashmere Cardigan, layered over our Promduti Roll Neck for extra comfort and snuggled up on the sofa in front of the fire with our Cherie Throw in Camel. Breakfast in bed was made perfect with our Cherie keeping us cosy! Top to toe cashmere! Double up with Ovecar or Juliet with our Esprit joggers.
