behind the seams | spring summer ’17 collection

We’re very excited to share with you a sneak peek of our upcoming Spring Summer ’17 collection. Our new collection takes inspiration from the senses and how we perceive our surrounding natural environment. For a behind-the seams look at the new collection, here are our key themes in more detail: In a world of evolving technology, from time to time we crave a simple, natural existence. In this collection we have explored a world without technology, one that is influenced by the forces of nature. This is a celebration of craftsmanship and texture that draws on the essentials of life whilst paving a way to the future. We have also explored the inter-connectivity between design, architecture, nature and culture and how they influence and work with each other. Architecture lends itself to fashion and design can take inspiration from nature- the world is unified through creativity. Our new collection will give you a foundation to your wardrobe by offering a mix of classic tailoring and a fresh take on qualities. Key pieces include wide-legged trousers, fresh cotton poplin shirts in our signature oversized silhouettes, sports-luxe jersey jackets and t-shirt dresses. Behind the collection | AW16

Our new Autumn collection is here! We’re so excited to share with you our inspirations behind our beautiful new collection. Our designs for the Autumn season take inspiration from minimalist twentieth-century architectural style.  The colour palette and the organic forms used in the work of Le Corbusier and the monochromatic structural qualities of Mies van der Rohe’s work inform the designs throughout the season.     We have focused on simplicity through using clean lines and with a pure use of colour at the beginning of the season. The structure of the garments refer to the lines used in modern architecture with sculptured silhouettes and curved forms. Textural, weather-worn exteriors are the inspiration for print. Building materials such as concrete, steel and brick inspired the colour palette of the collection, and offer texture to surfaces. Les 100 Ciels’ luxurious cashmere features at the heart of every collection and this season this beautiful yarn is given a multi-dimensional effect by varying weights and layering. We hope that you enjoy wearing our new collection! Shop new arrivals here.

Borrowing from the boys

Menswear is constantly informing the way we wear our clothes, more so now than ever before.  Who doesn’t love a comfy boyfriend jumper! We recently went to London Men’s Collections and could see womenswear influencing the designs too. Most women have flirted with the idea of menswear, as Vogue says: ‘Katharine Hepburn wore Brooks Brothers shirts bought from a secret girls-only counter at the back of the New York store, Marlene Dietrich worked the tux with unrivalled command, while Doris Day cavorted in her lover’s oversized shirts’. Here is our City Edit, which borrows styling from the boys and paired with our more structured pieces like Harper. This look is great for work wear and cosmopolitan living!
