EXPLORE: ST CHRISTOPHER’S PLACE

Spot the purple clock! Join us on a journey through St Christopher’s Place, the home of Les 100 Ciels flagship store. Tucked away from the crowds of Oxford Street you stumble across an eclectic collection of independent boutiques, bars and restaurants. With it’s pedestrianised streets and unique charm, St Christopher’s place is perfect for shopping and dining in true cosmopolitan style. We cannot help but stop by Workshop Coffee on the way to our store every morning for the best coffee you will ever have. They work closely with the best coffee growers in Colombia, Costa Rica and Kenya, producers and exporters- ensuring that they develop, envolve and adapt together while aiming for a continuous improvement of quality in a cup. They also champion home brewing and hold masterclasses regularly for you to perfect making the ultimate espresso.   Next head down to Il Papiro to stock up on beautiful handmade paper. We are suckers for marbled paper and hand decorated paper, especially around this time of the year (the bound diaries, journals and photo albums are perfect for Christmas gifts!).       Time for a little relaxation- just past Mulberry’s oldest shop is Groom London. A hidden gem, famous ...

The Les 100 Ciels team love the idea of combining art and fashion, so when we stumbled across North American master Richard Tuttle’s work, we wanted to share it with you!                 This artist’s pieces often feature everyday materials such as cloth, paper and rope, but for this particular exhibition Tuttle has taken inspiration from textiles. I Don’t Know. The Weave of Textile Language looks at the importance of textiles throughout history and combines a major exhibition in the Whitechapel Gallery, a large-scale sculptural commission in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall and a brand new book. The sculpture is at the Tate Modern until 6th April 2015 and the exhibition is in the Whitechapel Gallery until 14th December.   2. Frieze week did not disappoint this year, firmly placing London on the map as a centre for art. One of our favourite artists we saw this year was recent graduate May Hands. Like Tuttle, her ...
