Love to Dance; London

The list of things to do in London is endless, however we scoured the events planner for all things dance and chosen our Top 5 for you to enjoy… 1)  Billy Elliot The Musical Currently showing at Victoria Palace Theater and booking until December! Billy Elliot has been dazzling London’s West End since 2005. Set in a mining town in the north of England during the 1984/’85 miners’ strike, Billy Elliot is the inspirational story of a young boy’s struggle against the odds to make his dream of becoming a dancer, not a boxer, come true. 2 ) ‘Little Havana’ at Floridita Whether you just want to have a drink and enjoy the music, or get on the dance floor Floridita is a fun evening out. The Les 100 Ciels team went here to celebrate  a birthday a few weeks ago and the atmosphere was fantastic, we were clapping away and dancing in our seats whilst having dinner. The dance floor was full to the brim and a little intimidating to those of us who have never danced salsa but  don’t let this deter you.  It was a welcoming environment and you could tell everyone was there for a good dance. ...

KNITWEAR Chanel to Westwood

We popped down to the Fashion & Textiles Museum  to see the Knitwear, Chanel to Westwood, an exhibition comprised mainly of items from the collection of Mark and Cleo Butterfield. The pieces are presented in wooden crates, stacked one on top of the other and are accompanied by images of knitwear from various publications and fashion shoots.     The pair have been collecting pieces of knit and crocheted garments since the 1960’s and they cover a huge amount of years, ranging from late Victorian and Edwardian periods to present day items. Pieces from hand-knitting gurus Patricia Roberts and Bill Gibb are featured along side household names such as Chanel, Missoni, Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and Sonia Rykiel. Top tip: Take your sketchpad to the exhibition for some quick drawings! Book tickets here! Check out our knits here!

Spot the purple clock! Join us on a journey through St Christopher’s Place, the home of Les 100 Ciels flagship store. Tucked away from the crowds of Oxford Street you stumble across an eclectic collection of independent boutiques, bars and restaurants. With it’s pedestrianised streets and unique charm, St Christopher’s place is perfect for shopping and dining in true cosmopolitan style. We cannot help but stop by Workshop Coffee on the way to our store every morning for the best coffee you will ever have. They work closely with the best coffee growers in Colombia, Costa Rica and Kenya, producers and exporters- ensuring that they develop, envolve and adapt together while aiming for a continuous improvement of quality in a cup. They also champion home brewing and hold masterclasses regularly for you to perfect making the ultimate espresso.   Next head down to Il Papiro to stock up on beautiful handmade paper. We are suckers for marbled paper and hand decorated paper, especially around this time of the year (the bound diaries, journals and photo albums are perfect for Christmas gifts!).       Time for a little relaxation- just past Mulberry’s oldest shop is Groom London. A hidden gem, famous ...
